LAUTOKA captain Peniona Ranitu and Tavua flanker Eroni Qasi have copped a one match suspension after being involved in a brawl during the Digicel Cup match at Churchill Park yesterday.
Fiji Rugby Union match commissioner Penisoni Waki handed the suspension after citing the referee’s report after the fixture which was won by the host 23-20.
According to Waki, the referee Samuela Tuidraki cited Qasi for reacting after he was allegedly punched by a Lautoka player.
“The Tavua number seven was punched by a Lautoka player first,” Waki said.
“But then the Lautoka player involved walked away. And Qasi ended up in a scuffle with the Lautoka captain.
