FIJI WIN NEW ZEALAND SEVENS TITLE

The Digicel Fiji 7s team are the 2010 New Zealand 7s champions after beating Pacific Island rivals Samoa 19 -14 in a nail bighting cup final in Wellington on Saturday night.

The Iliesa Tanivula coached side put on a brilliant performance throughout the third tournament of the IRB World Series, which now sees them move into second place with 60 points, behind New Zealand.

Digicel Fiji 7s captain  Emosi Vucago said, “We’ve sacrificed a lot. In Dubai and George we lost in the semi finals and we went back to Fiji and trained hard. On New Year’s eve we were in camp and that’s why we’ve won the tournament today – we’re very proud.”
